it needs guard towers every two hundred yards standing orders shoot to kill no warning shots add a a 20 foot back simple 5 foot fence with postings "this is the death line "cross it your dead . no exceptions on race age or reasons and no prosecutions for the guards
doing the shooting let one by you loose a months pay
what we need is stiff fines for anyone hiring a illegal loose the company or farm or house and absolutely no government free ride at any level . a bottle of water and a bus ride and fingerprinted dropped off on the south side of the wall0 -

What about if a desperate person attempted to use a child as a shield? Any scumbag that did should die a horrible death yes. But then the kid is parent less and would starve.
Also Any US soldier, Marine, border officer who would possible shoot a kid I wouldn't want being authorized a firearm ever again.0 -

Sure, tunnels will be attempted, and some will succeed. Most will be found prior to use, and almost all (if not all) will eventually be found.
A barrier will make it more difficult to cross, and will force illegals into fewer and fewer areas, reducing the cost and difficulty of patrolling the border.
Nothing is 100%, but keeping the low-tech illegal aliens out is a good place to start.0 -

A proper reading of the 14th Amendment, IMO, denies that citizenship is automatically bestowed upon those born in this country. A poorly worded phrase designed to bestow citizenship upon slaves born in this country has be twisted to include any child born within our borders. It was not the intent. It is not what it says, but it has been distorted/decided to mean something it does not.
Sadly a new law will not do it unless that law results in the overturning of precedent regarding the interpretation of the 14th Amendment.0 -
