Not yet. BATF needs to issue a final regulation to ban them. That final regulation will likely have an effective date, maybe 120 days after it is issued. It will also address whether there will be a buy back or owners are totally screwed.

So in short, they are not illegal yet. But I sure wouldn't waste any $$ buying one now.
