    The Department of Homeland Security estimates the cost of the wall at $22 billion. Figuring in the 1150 mile length, that works out to around $19 million per mile, or $3600 per linear foot. Pledges so far were enough to build 1734 feet, or 444 feet per day. At the current contribution rate it will take 37 years and six months to fund the wall.

A more realistic number is 28 years and 3 months.

    Donations are picking up and there are several go fund me sites. I like:
    An Air Force veteran who started a fundraising page to help pay for construction of President Donald Trump's U.S.-Mexico border wall has brought in millions of dollars.

    Brian Kolcigarettee launched the GoFundMe page this week, and it had generated $6 million in donations as of early Thursday afternoon. It says it has a fundraising goal of $1 billion.

    Easy, if 1000 multi-millionaires donate 1,000,000 dollars, that's one billion. Entice them with the fact they will live much longer for every million donated, and a make it weekend special,, Next Wednesday the goal will be met.[:D]

    "The government has accepted large private donations before, most recently a billionaire donated $7.5 Million to fund half of the Washington Monument repairs in 2012; this is no different".
