"Molon Labe" isnt just a bumper sticker quote. It has real life consequences.

One phone call from a disgruntled relative, neighbor, or associate and a man can be served a warrant to relieve him of his rights and liberties.

No presumption of innocence. No due process.

    Believe the accuser.

    Nanny state at its worst.

    Really?

The police are at your door with a warrant to seize your guns. I'd say that you have 2 choices:
    1) Grab a gun & shoot it out with the police, or
    2) Let them do what they want, & phone a lawyer.

Do you think that someone picking option 1) would be sane?

What to expect if the DEMOCRATs can gain power, with major exceptions: No warrants and no knocking.

Yep, and Police Officers need to take the time to consider if their possibly dying is worth it to please their liberal masters. Seizing individuals property in a ex parte civil hearing, with out due process is IMO unconstitutional. Guilty until you prove your innocence, inorder to get your property back. Property that will likely have suffered in it's condition and value while being mishandled, and improperly stored.

I know the lefties where I live would love to enact one of these "red flag" law.

Looks like the relatives will be suing the police over this.

I surely don't know how this could stand as constitutional and where is the NRA "Saviors" in all this?

"The law requires the person being served to surrender the firearms to law enforcement. If they refuse, law enforcement gets a search warrant, seizes the weapons and arrests the respondent on a misdemeanor charge."

+1, Shilowar, In NY I spent my whole life collecting and restoring these guns. They are my private property. If I die list of guns with description go to court and copy to NY State Criminal Justice System within 15 days. Most are 37 Winchesters , no serial number and before 68 Gun Control Act. What a joke. After that one year in property room and beat all to hell. (New York Safe Act 2013) Andrew Cuomo can take the Safe Act of 2013 and shove it where my hand can't reach.

According to my read, they did not have a warrant. They had a request to turn over the firearms, he said no, cops were supposed to go get a warrant. They killed him instead.

A protection order is a form of warrant.

He opened the door and picked up the gun. Officers struggled with him for the gun.
Threaten a police officer with a gun and you will probably get shot

some one posted this article a couple days ago on the forum

as I said then who still thinks the LEO or military will not take your guns if ordered to do so . no matter what your constitutional right
the fellow I will guess was not allowed to state his side or defend the charges before they came knocking to take his guns .
just remember it could be any gun owner in his place any time some states easier than other's of course

This would not have been made possible without local or state firearms registration. This is exactly why the leftists want firearms registration.

"Anne Arundel police chief: Shooting was evidence that month-old 'red flag' law is needed "

See, if you resist with a gun, when they come to take your guns, that is proof that they were justified in taking your guns.

This is, I fear, a typical police chief. This is what most police chiefs will do when, Big Brother authorizes them to start seizing guns.

    Not even a misdemeanor...not even a crime, it's a civil court order.

A split second decision to choose living on your knees or dying on your feet. MOLON LABE...some people actually live it.

If there was a concern about this guys stability, why would they confront him head on at 0517? This was a poor decision. They could have waited until he left his home, and stopped him on a traffic stop, while others secured the residence. Poor decision IMO....unnecessarily forced a violent confrontation. This was a paper service, not a call where they had to made contact in this fashion.

    Who is reporting the incident?

What was the situation? Storm troopers knocking down the door to a mans castle?

What is a mans right to his house home and 2nd amendment right?

    The right to be killed?

Can't say I disagree with you. If it were a family that obtained the Protective Order then they would have had a source that could have provided them intel on his state of mind, habits, routines, placement of weapons in the home etc.

    Power to legislate without accountability.
    Power to vote without accountability.
Power to pull the trigger without accountability.
Everyone has power; nobody is accountable.

Cops and cop lovers point their fingers at legislators; legislators point their fingers at voters; voters point their fingers at manufacturers.

Judges are in there, too, and so is the NRA and everyone who accepts the premise that the gun is the problem and says, "we'll save you from that bad gun."
