Waterfall Trip PICS
Weekend started with Bad news my wife's brother died after a long battle with a heart condition. She wanted to take this trip anyway and fly up to Rome NY when we got back in.
After a nice stop in Hendersonville at the Apple Festival where we had a snack and a couple adult beverages, we played KENO and won thirty five bucks on a single bet. Cool
First waterfall was Connestee Falls in Brevard, this one is on private property and the view is limited which is too bad because if you could get to the bottom and see where both falls come together it would be awesome. The home owners in the private development have a much better view from a location on their side.
Anyway picture doesn't do it justice even from the viewing platform it is better in person.
Next falls was my favorite, it is also on private property, it is literally in someone's back yard. They are gracious enough to allow the public to share this AWESOME falls, EASTAHOE.

This is the falls cool "steps" on the right side.
These folks have a rope foot bridge to a gazebo in the woods where they can privately enjoy the falls too cool, I told my wife we need to get adopted by them!

We stopped and had a great Burger right next to Toxaway falls, you can't really get good access but the view in person is awesome.

Easy hike
Wife has a pic of me where I was able to scramble up to the middle of this fall, the sun was out and the rocks were dry so it wasn't slick at all but it is on her phone and she is getting ready to go to NY.
The big hike was 3.5 miles RT somewhat challenging to Rainbow falls and Turtle Back falls on Gorges State Park.
Turtle back has a ledge like sliding rock you can ride off, but when the water is up it can also carry you to Rainbow falls and kill you. Several people have already died there this year.

Bears were out but we didn't see any
For some Culture we stopped at the Allison Deaver house, amazing save that was to be bulldozed. Oldest Frame house in Western NC.
To stay hydrated we also went to Oskar Blues Brewery, Ecusta brewery, St. Pauls Winery and a new Hard Cider place.
On the way home we stopped in Florence and met my oldest daughter and her husband to celebrate her 32nd Birthday, My mom and step dad made it in from Myrtle Beach with a lot of navigational help from my daughter. Mom doesn't have a smart phone and they got a little lost.
