Bummed !!! Just another C.F. !!!!

Here we go ,

Short Version : After being off work for a few months , health issues and all , Im really ready ( and NEED the income ) to go to work : My law enforcement career is over : My "post" is out of date & been told (by the state) that I will need to go back to the academy now ? Not gonna happen @ 60 years old with these health problems ! Was just ( today ) offered a really good job ( security @ the Local Hospital ) , Now for the kicker : I need to be in Knoxville tomorrow ! My only running vehicle is in Limp Mode ( throwing 6 different codes ) , My mech. says Do Not drive very far : I can make it to the 'work site' (apx. 6 miles) But dont trust it any farther till I get a few checks so I can have it fixed : Cant rent a car (@ enterprise !)! cause they are in the next town over & Im gonna use a debit card NOT a credit card ::: This stuff SUX !!! I dont agree with people going Crazy (postal) But I understand WHY !!!

By the way : Ive contacted a few 'friends' so far : No Luck !!!!!!

    sorry to hear I hope some one or more come thru for you to at least getting you mobile loaning you a car or driving you until you can get squired away

    I Do Not Have a Credit Card ! Only debit cards !!!

    There are a TON of other car rentals out there these days. LOTS of "car sharing" companies too. Look that up on google, you'll see.

    LOTS of options for you, get on the google and look them up.

    Also, *many* companies these days will take debit cards. Dollar does, for sure.

    Got a 'Cousin' letting me borrow a car : and : come to find out her Husband is na certified mechanic ! Willing to work on my cars ; just me paying for parts !!! WTH ?

    Sorry to hear of your troubles

    Most of the rental companies will take a debit but they put a big deposit on it.

    Well actually

    According to the EFTA, your potential liability for fraudulent debit card transactions is virtually unlimited. You have up to 60 days to report a lost or stolen card under the EFTA. After that, you simply lose whatever money was taken, even funds siphoned from linked accounts. The exact liability limits under the EFTA are:

    Lost or stolen card reported before unauthorized transactions: zero liability.
    Lost or stolen card reported within two days: $50 liability limit.
    Lost or stolen card reported within 60 days: $500 liability limit.
    After 60 days: no protection.

    It?s important to note that if your card is not physically lost or stolen, you have 60 days to report fraudulent transactions with zero liability. If only your card number is stolen, the 60 days start from the date of the statement on which a fraudulent transaction appears.quote:Originally posted by us55840
