a little less if i sold the lake place in eastern kansas...never cared about fishing ..just a get away from her to a totally diff country... little ozark like low stuff with flint hills like pasture on up ground.. about redone everything there...dont like the drive over anymore at my age.....good catfish/crappie lake and almost nobody there except on major holidays....REA, propane, septic, no real party houses there with some older fulltimers...3 miles from town/eats/gas/lumber yard, library, feed/seed supply..about 12 miles to county seat..quiet 0 -
My family spends roughly 4500 a month to live. Im 45. I plan to live to 80. If I had 1.8 mil in the bank I guess I could make it last. Of course you could invest 1.8 and get 8 percent and get 12,000 a month and not touch the principle...
There are soooo many factors, reduction of mortgage, increase in taxes, and so I guess I will just keep my head down and try to make as much as possible.
I have just been thinking about the balance of enough and time. I have a good friend that just retired at 68 and died the next year. He had worked his whole life and was ready to enjoy life and dies in his EZboy with money in the bank and no chance to enjoy it.
Gotta find a balance of enjoying life and having enough... time and money0 -
2,500-$3,000 a month would leave me plenty of cushion IF MY MEDICAL IS COVERED with low co-pays. If not, I will have to work until I die. 0 -

Could not have said it better
We figured that out after I almost died two years ago at the young age of 460 -
I have no debt so discounting unforeseen expenses I could get by on 30K a year 0
