Transporting weapons cross country
Were u ever stopped and checked?
So many times we drove out west and only got stopped one time
In the 80?s we were going on a 2 month vacation.
We were zigzagging cross country,1month out and1 month back with Camp Perry in sight.
I had a conversion van pulling a trailer.
At home base i told my helpers to be very careful in loading this trailer.
They were so careful they forgot my guns.
There i was going to the Nationals with out my match guns.
We had to go to the 2nd Mesa Hopi Reservation in Arizona
At the Indian Patrol checkpoint they asked if we had any fire water or guns.
I said NO fire water but my Camp Perry match guns.
I showed them all my licenses/ paper info and they said NO GUNS!
So the trailer went into storage with out any guns that i didn?t know were missing.
On the long road to the Mesa we were followed by a pickup truck full of Indians.
They would pass us and we would pass them, as far as we could ~(.)-(.)~ only 2 vehicle?s.
If they catch us out here they could bury us and the van and nobody would ever find us.
My wife said activate the dropdown switch and she pressurized it and out slid the Iron Mongrel
The Indians only wanted to ask us if we wanted any tour guides
