Glock G19X

I am interested in this pistol and wondered if anyone has one and how the balance is. I have a G17, G22 and G21 so I am familiar with Glocks. Also is it available in any color but FDE?

I am considering the G19x and the G43 for carry.

    I dont own one, but I dont get it.

    Its a 17 frame with a 19 slide.

    Whats the advantage?

    I think it is like a commander size 1911 vs a full size. Shorter barrel easier to conceal.

    Shorter barrel makes pistol harder to control. Shorter grip makes pistol easier to conceal. Glock did it backwards cause I think they had some parts they needed to sell. Good looking though.

    I agree this may be marketing to sell more pistols.

    I have large hands and the longer grips fit me better. So I like the commander size frames and thought I might give this a try. Looking for another color than FDE but can't find one for sale.

    I have been carrying a G 19 for years and love it. Probably not much different that the X.

    I was thinking about getting a G 19X just for the color.

    The Glock 19X was the design submitted for the DoD MHS competition.

    The idea was for a shorter barrel for ease of carry while retaining higher capacity of rounds.

    When they were not chosen, they removed the external safety the DoD required and marketed it to the public in order to recoup costs of development.

    Unfortunately it only comes in FDE and the current FDE they are using looks too golden to me.

    Actually it's the opposite. The gun is more balanced than a 17 because it doesn't have the muzzle flip due to less moving mass. It is also faster out of the holster, and flatter shooting than a 17, and more accurate with the upgraded marksman barrel.

    I happen to like mine, it feels great in the hand, and I thrilled that they got rid of the finger grooves. It's not FDE, it is called coyote and the slide finish (PVD) is supposed to be very durable.

    It's funny that so many people complain that it's not as easily concealable. Well it wasn't designed for concealed carry, it was designed as a combat hand gun to meet specific requirements of the MHS. They submitted the 19 MHS and the 17 MHS and the ARMY chose the 19 MHS due to the shorter slide and balance. Glock already makes an entire stable of concealed carry handguns. THere were alot of Glock fans that wanted them to release the 19 MHS so that is why we have this model. I have heard that Glock will be releasing the 17x, 22X and 23X at some point.

    They've sold 100,000 of them in the first six months so i'd say their popularity speaks for itself. Like I said, I'm a fan, but I also carry my 19C with a 17 mag so I have no problem concealing either of them. For the blue label price of $533.50 coming with 3 mags 1 17 rd and 2 19 rd mags, and night sights that's not a bad price at all.

    Guess we just disagree. A g17 has more weight out front and therefore will have less muzzle flip in my opinion. And the butt not the barrel is what usually prints when carried concealed under a shirt. I see lots of gun butts printing under shirts but don?t remember ever seeing a barrel printing someone?s pants.

    I would like to see a G19 with a G26 grip frame.


    The 19X was made for the military not sure why the Military wanted the shorter gun but its what SOF use(The G19).

    I didn't say it was ideal for concealed carry, I said I carry it and my 19C with a 17 mag which is the same length using the flush magazine. It wasn't designed for concealed carry, it was designed as a combat pistol.

    You mean perty? It's a Glock, of course it's pure...pure f-ing sexiness!! Yeah from the minute I saw the 19 MHS I was one of those that was waiting for them to release it to the public. I had to wait a few months of a Blue label while others showed theirs off and I was jealy for sure.
