Home after another Cardiac Cath.
Had another mild heart attack on November 5th. Cardiologist did an EKG and blood work right away. Both came back looking not real good. This morning, they went in for a look. Nothing. Everything looks great. All 7 stents are open and all my arteries look great. Now to figure out why I keep having heart attacks. My white blood cells are at 23.7. They should be below 10.8 . Blood pressure is 102 over 57. Heart rate is also very low. Trying new meds starting today, to see if they help. I feel great, so I have no Idea what the hell is going on inside my body. Oak

Hope they get it worked out for you but at least you are in good spirits and don't feel crappy

Glad you're doing okay Oakie. There's a reason the WBC is elevated, follow up and find out, even if you need a hematologist. 0 -
The meds could be causing your problems, especially the low BP and HR. More bloodwork in a few days may show different results as sometimes it is not accurate. Feeling great is important. Tickers can tick for many years in not perfect shape.

seriously hope all is well and they get you figured out, my second was caused by a bloodclot,massive pulmonary embolism, they told me unless they are looking for them specifically they won't show on most tests, you may ask about them, mine caused shortness of breath and chest pain

I had a cath done and they found nothing but I didn't have a heart attack and my issue was related to meds and very small blockages that they do nothing with at this point. 0 -
stopped one pill and hmmm started feeling a whole lot better 0 -
If you all remember back sometime ago Oakie was doing a little "HVAC work" for a "friend" of his that would give him milk and cookies. Rumor has it that he's been seen doing a little more "work" for his "friend" which may or may not have some effect on his blood pressure etc. [:D] 0 -

+1 on the hematologist...
That's how they discovered my cancer - I was feeling lightheaded and tired and had a few episodes that felt like a heart attack or a stroke...
Turns out my bloods iron count was 2.7 (normal is between 10 and 13) and my heart was working overtime pumping blood with no iron production oxygen was not getting were it was supposed to
I mean I am pale - and of scotch Irish decent and have always been a bit anemic but I still remember sitting in the office that day after a blood draw while they ran labs...
Nurses kept checking on me - then it was three of them asking questions like what day was it and what was my name and how did I get there and who was president...
Turns out the tumor had blocked internal absorption of iron and I was not producing red blood cells - ended up getting infusions of iron through an iv push and a hang bag.
No jumping the line - I get to die next.

Glad the Cath went well. Now hoping they figure out quickly what the reason is for elevated blood count. 0
