I have only pointed a few of these out to the membership - I don't want to abuse the forums - but this was my dad's pieces - and a number if you have wanted A WWII DOM production piece with superb provenance and proof of history of ownership

Notes: This is a VERY NICE Winchester M1 Garand chambered in 30-06. Winchester is one of the hardest to find of the variants made! This was built in Feb, 1943. It has a 24".....2 groove.... barrel and it is clean and shiny. It is in great condition. This was purchased from CMP in 1967. It comes with the clips, sling, covers, original paperwork and extras shown in the pictures. Included is an extensive letter from the owner that covers every detail from end to end. Also included is every manual, advertisement and historical information that was collected by the owner over his lifetime about this type rifle. This is a GEM of a find and would be impossible to recreate.....a true find of a lifetime!
The pictures show everything that is included...if you do not see it in the pictures we do NOT have it, this includes any boxes, parts, extras, paperwork.

    I'd like to know the sight radius @ 600 yards and again @, say, 50 yards?

    Sort of like the ladder question to another poster, how can the rifling of a .30 Cal M1 Garand with a 'caliber' of .308" have a twist of 1 in 33.3 'calibers'? (10 / .308 = 32.468)

    Who (but the Navy) uses 'Caliber's as a length of measure? (and when they do, they get their 'numbers' correct)

    Were you guys used car salesmen in a previous life?

    I will review any of the data that I still have copies of tonight and cross reference it against my garand library.

    If I recall my father and Dave McClain collated the data and filled in the data sheet info together ( before he published his books)

    People raised similar concerns about the M1D and the carbine offered here in GB through Kasey

    I will get back to you on it - I have a surgical procedure requiring anesthesia this morning

    Sorry guys - still have to dig out some ephemera...

    Getting anesthetized twice in one day has left me foggy and has ruined my internal clock and sleep cycle

    The stock is embossed RIA (inspector's mark). The stock is also stamped (as in ink) SA (inspector's mark)
