    I sure do wish I wasn't allergic to the flu shot!!

    I asked my VA doctor if I could get a shot anyway. Thinking that a bad case of the hives was better than a bad case of the flu.

    He refused to give me a shot![V]

    Are you allergic to eggs or what? Can you take the nasal spray?

    whatever the so called risks the flu shot has been a great benefit to me ...after they started using the killed virus form.....

    No egg allergies. I just received an E-mail from the VA that informed me that I can get a free flu shot at a Walgreens drug store.

    I may get a shot under the VA doctors radar.[}:)]

    You do know that the number involved is speculative. CDC counts as many as they can and read the word, "complications" which includes any elderly person with a fever, it is counted as a casualty of the flu. And the elderly get their flu shots and still pass on.
    Just stating I don't believe the CDC, WHO and any other alphabet that benefits from government or world money because there has to be a "crisis" every year.

    Didn't know they had a nasal spray for the flu. Maybe you're referring to NARCAN to help with the hives?[:D]

    Got my shot. Second year in a row that I did not have pain in my arm after. Was told the VA changed the size of the needle and that was why it no longer hurts.


    But the shot for shingles is back in stock. My Nurse will not give the flu shot and it on the same day. So will get the shingles shot next Friday.

    There are age limitations on the live attenuated vaccine (nasal spray).

    "The nasal spray is approved for use in non-pregnant individuals, 2 years through 49 years of age."

    As far as the egg based shot,........

    "People who have experienced only hives after exposure to egg can get any licensed flu vaccine that is otherwise appropriate for their age and health."
