I find it had to believe. I just went through the whole Passport renewal and the real ID BS here in NC. I had no problems and I have a similar BC.
Barbara was born in a farmhouse in the 1970s in Leavenworth County. She had a birth certificate. Her father went to the courthouse days after she was born to certify her birth -- raised seal and all.
I was born at home also and my birth certificate is from a courthouse and it looks lame as all get out(worse that BHO's) but it has a seal and has been accepted by multiple agency's in the US Government/Military.
The letter stated, because her birth certificate was not issued at a institution or hospital, it was not considered proof enough of her citizenship.
If a court house is not considered an institution I don't know what is.
I would resubmit it. Knowing Houston TX it probably dropped on the desk of some bureaucratic POS who was having a bad hair day or had lost one of her fake nails.0 -

I can't get a drivers license in NM because I was born at home. They will not accept the fact that I retired from the military and had a military passport. I finally just started driving without it, maybe he judge can make sense of it when I get a ticket

There is confusion on the subject. As one who worked in the field, there is a difference in a Birth Certificate and a Certificate of Live Birth.
They are NOT the same!
A Birth Certificate IS proof of birth! A Certificate of live Birth is NOT.
Sorry but I do not know much more than that. I worked in Child Support Enforcement and the courts will not accept a Certificate of Live Birth.0 -

I'm wondering why she had to send in a copy of her birth certificate to renew? I've renewed my passport twice and just had to obtain two fresh photos of my handsome face [;)], fill out the renewal form and then mail it, payment and my old passport to the agency. Other than applying the first time, I've never had to submit any citizenship documentation at all to renew.0 -
Government employees are usually acting in accordance with rules from the leaders, they don't make stuff up just to be nasty.
In 2017, hundreds of US citizens were sickened by whooping cough, & 21 died; this was due to Obama's decision to permit illegal aliens to stay in the US without health screening; not hard to pin the blame in this case.
In the case of a drivers license, rules are likely based on the requirements of the federal Real ID Act, with some interpretation by the state government. I think that it would be better to litigate unjust treatment with the governor & state legislators from the comfort of my home, rather than from a jail cell.

they did this to my mother who was 92 at time, she had a certificate of live birth and it wasn't good enough to renew her drivers liscence. they actually ask for the signature of two witnesses who were present at her birth!!!!! like anyone else would still be alive. she used an old passport and they gave her a "birth certificate" someone just took a pen put a line through where it said certificate of live birth and wrote in birth certificate and stamped a state seal on it....I was kinda hoping at the time they would turn her down for the drivers liscence 0 -

I was born at home too, and everyone who knows about it is long since dead, and no I didn?t kill them.
Seems like I remember getting a letter, I think from Montgomery, telling me my birth certificate was useless but I could get a new one that met all the requirements of the new legislation by applying for it. I figured it wasn?t worth the trouble and dropped the letter into the shredder.
I got my first passport in Spain. I used my Navy ID Card for identification. When I got my next passport I remembered the letter and sent in my passport instead of my birth certificate. If there were any problems with it nobody told me about it, but this reminds me, I need to look at the passport to see if it has expired.0 -
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION is the issue here, major post offices, irs offices, all government offices have all become infected

Look at most Federal, State and Local wages and benefits and they will generally far exceed the private sector.
I know of one person, who has just a bachelors degree who has been with Fed's for about 20 years, they make almost $125k and never works over 40 hours a week.0 -

My daughter moved to Colorado and in the move "misplaced" her driver's lis. & didn't have an orig. SS card. Her bad for sure. At any rate, after MUCH time & energy spent attempting to obtain a new driver's lis. she finally hired an attorney. His comment was "it is much easier for an illegal to obtain a driver's lis. than the situation she was in[:(!] 0 -

A certificate of live birth seems to be enough qualifications for the Presidency of the United States (even if it is a forged copy).[}:)] 0
