Tool Boxes For Your Shop
I was reading an article in a magazine and they were rating tool boxes.
They did not have Snap On or Mac.
Home Depot had 3 in the top 10. Their Husky tool boxes were rated high.
I was surprised to see Harbor Freight in the top 10. If i remember right they were between 3 and 5. I went to the Harbor Freight store and checked them out and they are nice. 450 dollars for the bottom box is not cheap but they are deeper than all the toolboxes i have.
In my shop i have a workbench running down 1 whole wall. On the opposite side of the shop i have tool boxes along the whole wall. Top and bottom boxes. All my tool boxes are 18 inches deep but i would love to replace them with 22 inch deep tool boxes. That would be sweet.
I also have pegboard on all the walls in the shop and that was a great decision. I have that and still need more storage.
Another thing that i did in my shop that i think was a great idea was put 2 x 12 pressure treated wood down and put my tool box wheels on them.
My floor is not concrete so to help my 3/4 plywood floor i put down the strips to help the floor.
I bought a book about shops and these ideas were in the book.

Look at harbor freight for their big shop lockers. I just looked and they do not show them on their site.
But Home depot carries the same stuff and is more expensive.

harbor freight is almost continuous sales promos now..must be the china trade thing...bought a 46" mobile storage cabinet a year or so ago $269..same today is $229 is 15% cheaper ... 0 -

Husky?s are hit and mis. They are all private lalbeled and not made by the same manufacturer 0 -
I used Craftsman roll away tool chests for years. I bought a Harbor Freight 56" base cabinet + 56" top cabinet + end cabinet for around $1400 and am well pleased at it's durability and strength. The same set up by Snap-On would be over $5000. 0 -
for years i wanted a nice stack box so i got a sears craftsman,,after two years of flimsy sniz i gave it away and got two harbor freights,, happy,, i was in the HF one day and saw the local county garage come in and buy 6,, 0
