How many keep taking on projects?
You have several projects, none of which are near completion but yet you take on ?just one more? because this one will be quick and easy?
I have a 1968 Chevelle off the frame, new narrowed backhalf I need to weld in plus body work and paint. An old hotrodding buddy has an engine to sell me, a 454 with an 871 out of his boat, I haven?t moved on it yet.
I have a 1979 F150, this one still runs and drives but there is a long To-Do list including an unfinished engine sitting on the stand.
Then I have the 1994 GMC K1500, doesn?t need much but I can?t just leave it be, repairs and upgrades are in the planning.
Now, the next project is a two purchase project. First a 5th wheel camper, that part is easy and I have all winter to locate one at dirt cheap off season pricing. I refuse to pay retail, I?m a cheapskate and am looking for a snow bunny that made a bad decision and is willing to take a loss. I found one but it is too far away so I?ll keep looking.
Now, a 5th wheel camper is heavy, our Ram is only a 1500 1/2 ton. Engine wise it will pull it, needs a trans cooler added and a set of airbags on the rear axle, too easy. But, I cannot take her pickup and go to Sturgis, the only other vehicle I have she can drive is the GMC and it?s not her cup of tea, she?s gotta have her Hemi, spoiled!
I?m into hotrods, I love old cars and pickups and would rather drive them than a new one, I always leave the Ram sit and drive the ?79 or ?94, hell with that new pickup it just aint cool! I cannot say what I found because I?m afraid of losing it but in the next few days I may become the owner of a cool old pickup, old as me, 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive with a bigger engine than my ?79! Yep, it will be a gas hog but you hafta pay for cool, cool aimt free or cheap. All it needs is some minor rust repair and painted, already decided in Burnt Orange as the color. This cool old truck will become my camper yanker, hell with showing up to Sturgis with an $80,000 pickup pulling a $100,000 toy hauler with $100,000 worth of Harleys in it. Hell now, we goona show up in a vintage 5TH wheel pulled by a 50 year old pickup dragging a chopper behind it on a small trailer. Loud rude exhaust, dropped front end burnt orange coolness driven by a fat bald headed tattooed truckdriver chugging on Beam & Cokes [:D]
The good thing is all of this, the bike, camper and old pickup will cost me less than $15,000 all together and in my opinion be more cool than the guys with the fat checkbooks [8D]

I'll have to live 40 years after retirement to finish my now and future projects 0 -
If I start on that project, I have to stay with it until it's finished before I start another project. If I don't do that, then I would be like you and have a bunch of Unfinished projects.
My present Project is a 65 Mustang that I have finished restoring the undercarriage and body. I found an LS motor and transmission for it then I also have completely rebuilt. I have purchased a whole new front end suspension for it, and in the process of looking for a new rear end for it. The mid-90s Ford Explorer rear end it's a perfect without having to do any read welding, and has disc brakes. So that's the cheapest way to do the rear end.I have already purchased all the interior parts thatare sitting in a box in my garage that will be the last thing that I put on it. I expect that I will have it finished probably sometime in December.
my last project was a 1970 Challenger that I did the same way, the project before that was a 69 Dodge Charger built the same way, the one before that was a 68 Chevy Camaro that I restored using the stock engine and transmission but hot-rodded it... The one before that wasy a 52 chevy half ton pickup 5 window that I restored back to original. before that it was a 1952 Lincoln Caprice that I restored back to original. The one before that was 1932 Ford Model A convertible pickup restored back to original. The one before that and my first one was a 1928 Willie's Whippet that I inherited from my grandpa when I was 12 that had 50 original miles on it. He bought it new and rolled it on its side as he drove it in the driveway on his way home for buying it. That was the first time he ever drove a car.and so you could step the team horses guided into the farm, wrote into town and bought another brand new Willy's whippet.. I asked him why he didn't just fix the dent on the first one, and he said he just didn't trust it after the brakes didn't work as he was pulling in the driveway.
Once I get the Mustang done I am going to start looking for a 55 Ford T-Bird to restore, and then after that one, I'll look for a 63 Corvette to resore0 -
This year was "supposed" to be completing projects year. Started out the year strong by finding the scout scope for the Marlin 1895GS but the scope wasn't 9+" eye relief but 14". So again she's glass-less but the Mini-14 is sporting a new scope. I do need to go to the range and to see if the scope doesn't have any other defects. But with the White Feather I ain't got no range money. It's really an ugly cycle [:D].
While on the White Feather that bunged things up. I was gonna finish my Mega Arms MATEN into my version of the SR-25 [:D]. At least the White Feather made me loosen my Kung Fu action grip on some of my guns. High Standard Space gun was easy since I didn't wanna scope her because of my failing eyes. Kahr K40 was also easy since I didn't have much in to her.0 -

Just took on 7 AR lowers, going to be a lot of gun projects taking place and I still want a legal SBR with a supressor. I have a friend who works at PSA tell me there is a way to do a single stamp supressed SBR, I need to check into that, all I can think of is a permanant attached supressor to take the barrel length past 16?, need more info.0 -
BSR, the gas boom is going on around here, drilling is done and currently pipeline work, should be done in less than year, there will be hundreds of campers of all types for sale, if you can find a similar place that have allready moved on you may pick up a cheap one......... 0 -

Only take on one project at a time, become completely obsessed with same and do nothing else until it's completed (unless waiting on parts etc). 0 -

I have enough projects that would last at least two lifetimes
have two 69 camaros one stripped down to nothing and one I want to at least repaint and freshen up the engine .
I retired 4 years ago my wife decided we needed to add on and remodel all the rooms [:(] so thats on going
I just had a garage burn down so that just added another project big time still in works with insurance company
I have many small projects . chain saws weed trimmers and so on.
yet I still find my self out at swap meets flea markets yard sales , thrift shops saying I can fix that ( just picked up a dyson vacuum today not working but hay I can fix it [:I][:I][:I]
I am 61 and at night when a 1000 thoughts are passing thru my head tryng to fall asleep I think I should have just bought a condo or rented a apartment and spent my money traveling places going out all the time
in place of on all the things I have that need repaired maintained and all tools to do it with
and staying home working on every thing [:0] well you get the idea [:D][:D]0 -

Yes I did, but I am looking for a daily driver... And I know that it's sacrilegious to put a Chevy motor in a Ford. But the LS engine is the only engine Chevy produced that is worthy to put in a Ford. But what can I say, I got the donor car that the LS engine came out of for $100... Plus the 65 only had a 6 cylinder in it with a 3 speed on the tree, so it's a no-brainer that I wouldn't put that combination back in it.0 -

Yes, but I'm looking for a daily driver not a race car. I do have a 390 side Oiler that I am going to build into a Cobra Jet sitting in my garage waiting for the right project to come along. But 65 Mustang Coupe is not the right project for such an engine. A 68 Mustang Fastback on the other hand.,...0 -

my first car was a 64 1/2 mustang red , red interior with a bench seat and a/c 289 3 speed ( came from Arizona ) gave my uncle 800 dollars for it
he bought it off a old couple who bought it new and just moved to Ohio .
I stripped out the interior bought a complete black interior for 75.00 put in a 4 speed , headers, cragars, big tires , air shocks , and ran the holey crap out of it .. I miss that car dearly but hind sight would have left it as it came with all the options and still have it ..so it goes [:(] sold the red bench seat interior and A/c set up 100.00 what was I thinking

Since I retired 4 years ago this month all my projects are things I can easily lift and not have to crawl under to work on other than maintenance on my car and truck. I do one project at a time at a very leisurely speed.
I rebuild old 50s and 60s model Evinrude and Johnson outboard motors that are 18 hp and under, I collect and refurbish old Mitchell fishing reels and I reload ammo. Well actually I've reloaded so much ammo during the past couple of years that I may never need to load any more for the rest of my life.0 -

my uncle until he passed gave me crap every time I saw him over the mustang ( but than again he was the one who helped me hot rod it [:D] )

Well since the seller decided to end the auction early claiming they decided to keep it it looks like I?m back to the drawing board for a camper yanker. It was a 1970 F250 with a transplanted 428 and C6 auto, bummer [:(!] 0 -
When I was big into riding/racing Dirtbikes both MotoX and Enduro I wanted a 4x4 Van.
I figured I could put my bike in the van and when I got to where I was going unload and sleep in the Van.

It didn't happen. I had a 77 Ford F250 long bed 4x4. I drove that thing everywhere even down to Baja Ca for a week of riding.

It sure is nice getting up out of bed in the mornings knowing you don't have to do anything the rest of the day unless you just want to.
It took me nearly a year after retirement to get over the feeling that I was running late for work when I woke up in the mornings. I was continually looking at my watch and checking my phone for messages. I finally took all my watches and put them in the safe and turned my phone off.
My weekends are Monday thru Friday and I stay home on Saturday and Sunday when everybody else is off from work and crowding up the places I like to go to.0
