Yellow jackets, Aarrgghh-
In keeping with all the other previously posted stories. I will share mine, which just happened.
A couple weeks ago I had a bunch of trees downed very close to and behind (overhanging) my house. One of the trees had a Sodium vapor light about 15' up. Line had to be cut. Turned out it shorted my overhead lights. Receptacles fine, over/switch controlled lights No Go.
Had the Power Co. Come out, trying to figure out what was wrong. When we went to inside breaker box, Guys asked me "Do you have a Fly swatter?" I'm thinking WTH? I'm about to learn something new here.
Nope, Yellow jackets were coming in through the outside connection. Whap, whap, whap. [:0][B)]
Ended up calling an electrician. Got the electrical problem solved, without incident or Yellow jacket intrusion.
Last several days, I have seen yellow jackets dead on the floor in various parts of the house. Knew where they were coming from. Just got a spray bottle of Bifen IT, a flashlight, etc, and went in to the bathroom, where the breaker box access door is located.
I expected to open the door, give a few shots to the general corner I knew they were coming in from. Nope.
All ready to go, had the spray bottle of Bifen IT shaken up ready to go, flashlight on. Open the access door. (Oh Sheeit.) They were swarming, inside at the upper corner of the box. Gave them two or three shots of Bifen IT, real quick. Then the SHTF.
Yellow jackets everywhere in the small bathroom I was in. Got popped twice on the lower lip, (that will be nice.) Twice on the temple, and once on the neck. Maintained my composure, and sprayed the crap out of the swarm. (Take that ya Bastages.) Slammed the access door shut. Got the Hell out of the bathroom. Shut the door behind me.
Ahh the joys of Country home ownership. I think my lip will probably end up about 2X the normal size. Temple throbbing, neck sore. Little Bastages. I hope you enjoy my little neuro-toxin introduction to your (My) environment.
Flamethrower to be broken out soon. [:(!][:p][:D][}:)]

Bifen IT, when you really, really need to pull the pin on the hand grenade. Just opened and checked the bathroom. Dead and dying Yellow Jackets (15-20+) writhing on the floor. Not stupid enough to open the access door again. [:0][B)]
Take that Ya Bastages. [:p][:D]
Went in there with a large shop vac. Vacuumed up those on the floor. Opened the access door ready to go to War. Vacuumed all the visible dying/dead Yellow Jackets up in sight.
Too bad, so sad. [^]0 -
1oz of Bifen IT goes a long way for pests like that. We haven't had a single nest anywhere again this year. 0 -
it helps to put a white sheet over you makes you invisable 0
