Thought I was a Goner....

Had a lump form over my eyebrow and some blurry vision.. headache and my head felt like it was going to explode... scalp very tender on right side... well lump got a little larger in the 4th day so tonight went to the Dr. ... Figuring the worse I thought a possible aenuerium SP.. or a brain tumor. After the Cat Scan came back negative for a tumor I wanted a beer. Eye Dr. looked at me and determined I have shingles... I ask him 3 tab or architecture shingles... Feeling better already, I got a script of medicine for them.

    well not the best news but a lot better than you thought

    I went thru shingles just about a year ago I had a very tender bump just above my ear when I woke up hurt and was swelled up
    I thought a spider bite or similar even posted about it on here .
    then it stared spreading and itching / hurting more
    I went to the ER two doctors young one checking me out told me might be singles but never seen it in the location i had it . old doc came in looked said yep shingles couple shots and some pills about another week or two being uncomfortable ,, cleared it up
    they told me it could come back any time

    Very glad it was not anything you were thinking. However,the shingles are nothing to play with either,can be serious and quite painful.
    Take your meds,keep a handle on it. Get better quickly,Select.

    My aunt had to deal with that, she said it was the WORST thing she has ever dealt with. I'm sorry you have it. Hang in there. You can tell all the kids you are a real pirate if you get a patch!

    Well off to get a haircut this morning and to see a retina specialist. Pain is starting, head now feels like a full blown migraine headache. I am pain tolerant but most likely will have to take some serious pain medication once it kicks in.

    My wife had them a couple of years ago. I know how bad the pain can be so I?ll say a prayer for you today.

    you are in for a lot of pain. I suggest getting a pair of safety glasses with a #5 lens

    i paid a large sum for the shingles shot ...got it at a pharmacy in
    nearby town.....after listenng to what a couple of friends went thru with shingles that was a smart preventive

    Be careful and do what the Doc says Shingles near the eye can be worse than other areas.

    Glad it is nothing worse. Can you get the Shingles shot after you heal up?

    Be a rough couple of weeks, take care of yourself. I guess they told to stay away from pregnant women.

    About every few hours it feels like a hoard of yellow jackets are stinging the top of my head.

    Back in the early 90s I was taking a shower one morning and while drying off I looked in the mirror and saw a pretty big lump in my lower abdomen and thought to myself "oh no a tumor". Off to the doctor I went and after looking me over he said that's no tumor, that's a hernia but he said that's not your main problem right now. He said your blood pressure is 200 over 130. I've been on blood pressure medicine ever since.

    So I guess that hernia just might have saved me from eventually having a heart attack.
