Rusty Tool ?
I bought some punches, chisels that are really rusty. They were in a Snap On pouch and a Dayton pouch. You could not read the brand on the tools.
I took my bench grinder with the wire wheel and they cleaned up like new. I was wondering what to put on the tools so they would not rust again.
My 5 gallon parts washer has wd-40 in it. I was thinking about running it over the parts and then letting them dry on the tray inside.
Any better idea?

Yeah that might work, any kind of oily substance should work. Don't put them back in the pouch either. 0 -
Rust neutralizer. It chemically changes rust to a stable, hard coating. 0 -

WD40 won't protect them. Use some kind of oil. 0 -

I have had good results with WD-40 on things left outside over the winter. Probably Silicone Spray would also be good. Read the can and see what a product is made for. 0 -

I tried different products to remove rust on the War of Northern Aggression pistols for years and was always disappointed. I found "Metal Rescue" last year and it is hands down the best. Instruction say to soak overnight but I just let them soak for a week. Can't say I'm in a rush since they are 150 years old. Give it a try. 0 -
