You did not miss anything except this. Many people look to government for solutions to social issues. It is the quickest way to get to a Marxist form of government and Marxists know it. It is much akin to the frog in a pan of water, drop him in when it is boiling and he jumps out. Put him in cool water and he will let himself die when the heat gets too great.
