When was the last time you sat by a bonfire?
Been catching up on "Longmire" since the final season will be out on DVD next Tuesday. There's a lot of bonfires on this show, that got me thinking when was the last time I was at one. I'd think sometime in the late '90s. Kind a sad. I really need to get a compound so I can have a weekly one where I get passed out drunk next to it [:D].

Last trip in Sept way back in the PA mtns. Next: Possibly end of this week-same location. After that: Early Jan., same place when it?s about -10* and, with a little luck, a foot or two of fresh snow. Pretty common occurrence here in my backyard (no EPA or code-enforcement here) [:D], I'd go nuts without one, the neighbors seem to like them too, they wander over often to get their outdoor "fix" [:)] 0 -

We have a fire pit so it's a pretty common occurrence here in the Spring & Fall.

Had a party last month, the unofficial 50th reunion of my high school.
Had 7 high school buddies over all came from 6 different states.
I lit up the bonfire and we sat out there for hours, on Friday and Saturday nights, drinking beer and looking at the stars, and the fire.
Way out in the NC mountains on top of my mountain.
I highly recommend a bonfire.0 -
Just came in from mine today. The new place has a LOT of dead trees/brush/old cuttings stacked up.
Gonna have me some fun clearing out that stuff this winter. Extend the back yard a bit.....0 -
about once a month in the winter. i build a fire, pour about two or three shots of good brown liquor, a good cigar and the dogs. makes for a relaxing evening. 0 -
I have a bonfire like the one described above, every October at my parties. Have been doing that for 7 years.
Only reason I don't do more, I have a beautiful wood stove in my living room with huge glass doors. I can sit on my sofa and look at the beautiful fire without going outside. Wunderbar!
Only drawback is you can't look up and see the stars. Can see some pretty good stars out the windows though because I am on top of the mountain.0 -
Every weekend during the summer at the cabin[:)]

Well my Idea of a bonfire is burning a stack of combustibles about 15 to 20 feet in diameter and at least 10 feet high.
Homecoming week 1962. Met my first girlfriend there. (Hi Rose)

We camp, and have fires, several times a year. But, those are not 'bonfires', just 'campfires' for cooking and ambiance.0 -

One of my kids was invited to a birthday party for a classmate whose family had just immigrated from up North. The invitation advised what the party would entail, including a "barn fire". I didn't want my kid going somewhere to burn down a barn but it turned out a little different.[:D] 0
