Well that sucks...
I was getting ready to change out the oil cooler lines to my Caprice when I noticed the nuts were different. On my new lines the nuts were small and the ones on my ride was brass colored and big. It may be the 9C1 and Caprice/Impala might be different. I know few bits aren't interchangeable. This might be one?
I may have to yellow neck this by cutting the aluminum tube and slip on a rubber line and hose clamp them. All that trouble of not getting the silly thing and it might be the wrong part. At least I didn't take the old one off only to find out the problem.
I'm done for the day. I think I'll watch more "My name Is Earl" and sulk [:D].

A guy was showing off on FB his "new" 95 Impala SS he bought yesterday. The lady owner died recently, the car has 70K miles on it, all the receipts and is immaculate!! So jealy.... 0 -
Oil cooler or transmission oil cooler? Transmission lines will blownoff unless the hose goes over a barbed fitting. Engine oil lines could possibly as well but not as likely. 0 -
shilowar - I like the '95s. OBD1 with the side mirrors on the window sail and not off the doors (better to squeegee the windows at gas and sip). Don't let me know when he "donk" that ride [xx(]. Be funny if grandma had a lead foot [:D].
Big Sky Redneck - It's the Oil Cooler line (my second time at this rodeo). The first one was back in 2003. I'll chew off the crimp and the hose to see if there's a bulge on the aluminum tubes where I can slip a hose over it after much cussin' and Vaseline [:D].
I suppose I could let the hose seep and top her off with fresh oil as needed. She'll be like a Harley marking her spot [:D].0 -

Get a compression fitting to match your aluminum tubing and use the compression feral as a pseudo "barb" . If you want to get fancy, you can split the nut to remove it. Or, you could do it correctly and get a barbed compression fitting.

That is a nifty idea. I'll have to measure out the tube diameter and see if I got the space on the oil filter side of the hard line.0 -

I've used both the pseudo barb as well as the barbed fitting on trans cooler lines many times over the years and have yet to have a failure. Just make sure you use good quality hose clamps.0 -
