Telescoping baton...
I bought one of those telescoping batons. I call it my "Antifa Special." It rides in the storage tray of the driver's door in my truck. I got it thinking that it may be useful if I was ever surrounded by a pack of fascist, violent Antifa types. Then I realized I would would just shoot the rectal orifices. Another $20 wasted.

Since there are some jurisdictions that place all kind of limits on possessing- much less USING one of those, I studiously avoid them.
Say- did I show you the nifty mag lite I got? Real bright- 5 D cells. And durable. I betcha dropping one of those won't break it. Rides in the map pocket on the door of my truck. Real handy if I need it.... to read a map, of course.

Telescoping cylinder or coiled spring construction so called SIPO batons are effective law enforcement come along tools and self defence devices have have been popular and used for decades with proper training and continued practice.

I purchased a telescoping many years ago while I was in the Czech Republic. This is a top quality baton and not a piece of ChiCom junk: 
Once I got it home, it turned out that these gizmos are illegal in something like 23 states, including CA, where I used to live. In fact, in a few jurisdictions you'd be better off having them catch you with a concealed handgun rather than a baton! These batons are legal in Florida, but since I can drive around in Florida with a handgun in the center console of my car without having a permit, I didn't need to be a genius (or a doctor [;)]) to figure out which of the two was the better option.0 -

always some BS favoring a perp...i have picked up several solld brass figurines mostly made in India...have an antique cane (was my 3 great grandads and come from Ireland) some kind of brush or shrub with many little areas where branches came out...really tough...i removed the deer bone handle and fit a brass duck solid with dyed acura glass...bust the hell out of anything..got two sizes of brass elephant to find a tough handle of some type wood...good PC weapon for an oldie 0 -
If you ever have the need to use it, a large wrench would be way easier to explain in court than a baton that has no purpose than to hit people. 0 -

my oldest son travels a lot with out a firearm but he does have a 5 cell mag light .
few months back showed me a "new flashlight " that may be riding the line a bit it almost looks like a small base ball bat and heavy with a light built in [:0]
but as stated some ares using a baton or club or what ever you may want to call them would just get the owner in trouble with the local courts after he beats the heck out of the bag guy (s) [:D] but at least he will be able to go to court .
I have been told a lot of "bikers" carry a wrench tied to a bandanna as a multi use tool [:D]0 -
