    The Rose Bowl of 1942 was played in Durham, NC, at Duke University's Duke Stadium (later named for Coach Wallace Wade) which was opened in 1929. It was moved because of concerns holding it on the West Coast after we entered WW2. Duke lost to Oregon 20-16.
