How do you teach a dog to properly -

Eat fine homemade Jerky?


Me - savoring every bite. 20,30, yes even 40 chews per bite. Savoring every morsel. Enjoying all the subtle flavors, 3 days of marinating yields. Ahh,.......exquisite. [:D]



Him - 3 bites. Give me more, I'm ready for more. (Copious drooling involved.) [Some by the dog.]




Aaaarrrggghhh................I'm wasting it on you. [:0][B)][xx(][V]

    A dog is about how much he gets to eat, not the quality of what he eats. besides, you think your jerky is good but you must remember he thinks cat poop so fresh it is still warm is an incredible delicacy!![:D]

    Slather some peanut butter on the jerky, it might slow it down just a mite bit.

    I have often wondered if our dogs think we are cheating. we chase them and scold them for raiding the cat box then they see us scooping and bagging up all there goodies [}:)][}:)]

    As for the jerky it would be a close call between me and the dogs who eats it the fastest [:D]

    Ummmmm... Sodium, (jerky is loaded with it) is extremely bad for dogs.....

    What you need to do is chew a bit then move the chaw between your lower lip and gum and savor the juice. Make that bit last half an hour. Also makes the super dry or tough jerky softer.

    far as I can tell you can't.

    all my dogs would gobble up yummies like that, then a split second later look like nothing happened while at the same time asking for more. [:)]

    it's their instinct to eat as fast as possible before anyone else gets it.
