  I believe they were two divisions of GM perhaps 35 years ago. AC made electrical parts and Delco made mechanical things like shocks, etc. They were merged a long time ago.

  And, on an historical note, "AC" stands for Albert Champion.

  The merger hearkens back to an anti trust suit brought against GM in the early 1960's.
