    Agreed. Agencies are bending over backwards to cater to the newer officers for recruitment and retention. Everywhere is having a very difficult time finding quality applicants. A year ago, our chief changed the beard and tattoo policy. Now we have officers that look like they stepped out of the carnival freak show.

    ...makes for attention getting on the internet, but is embarrassing/stupid overall. Our job is to be law enforcement officers and professional, not a bunch of damn entertainers. If you're a Justin Beiber wanna be, go elsewhere. If you have that much extra energy, by all means put it into your job, stop acting like teenagers. If you want to better reach those you're sworn to protect, park the damn car, get out and talk to the folks in your area, you'd be surprised how much communication you can establish when you're not acting like a bunch of clowns.

    It's all about culture...we're full staffed and have a line of folks wanting to come work for us. It hasn't always been that way but the past couple years under my current Chief we are having lots of certified applicants as well as veterans applying, good quality folks too. I think my Chief would be tempted to do something like this, I told him he could count me out for participation because I think it's shameful.

    Saw that video on FB of the 12 o'clock boyz...some serious creators of mayhem. Balti better get on top of that chit, like Philly...what a problem.
