    Sorry Sam, got in a hurry and what?s left of my brain wasn?t working yet again. Thx to you other guys for squaring things up. It is Rocky Mtn Elk. Last one I went to I managed to win a Yeti 65 qt cooler and a 10-22 Takedown. The grub is top of the line too.

    That is a good prize.

    Those coolers run 500 bucks. I don't know what I would do with a 500 dollar cooler but they must be nice.

    Most the hunting related banquets are a good time.
    I've won some great prizes, gotten some great bargains on auction items and trips. The local chapter of
    Safari Club International is my favorite.
    Always good food, great people, and amazing donations!

    I couldn?t get my mind around an expensive cooler like that either Sam. Besides, it was heavier than hell. I tend to travel light, traded it off to a friend. The 10-22 Takedown rifle I donated to my nephew?s scout troop for their shooting/safety program.

    Your a good man. I hope the BSA appreciates it. I was an Eagle Scout and used to volunteer at the Troops on post but since they let women and weirdos in I have no use for them. There are still a few troops out there that maintain the standard.

    My Dad was a scout Master for 20 years. He started 2 Troops and mentored many scouts to get their Eagle.

    I have a 60 quart Cabelas "knock off Yeti". I too think they're too expensive and too heavy for most things, but it works like dream on a hunting trip.
    Keeps food frozen for a week! As long as you dont go in and out of it more than once or twice a day........
    It's worth it for such a use. Certainly not worth it for a beverage cooler in a boat, unless it's an all day off shore trip in Florida or similar.......

    Once upon a time, a couple of marriages ago-yeah, yeah-anyway, I was a den mother for my step son?s Cub Scout Troop. I had a good time teaching things I couldn?t believe kids never knew: how to use tools, build things, even gun safety, first with play guns then BB rifles. Try that one today with youngsters. Added benefits, as my domestic situation changed, (At least that time it was her not me!) where ya had Cub Scouts ya had single Cub Scout moms.
