How many single shot handguns do you own.

Me too many -- contenders, encores, and FA 2008s. Not counting extra barrels, I think I have 10.

Hunted for many years exclusively with handguns.

    I got an old Sterling Arms 300 that always jams after the first shot...that?s as close as I come. Shot a few Contenders and liked them.

    Have 3 in 45 caliber. Use a round patched ball, 35 grains of powder and a #11 cap. Accurate, cheap shooting and a lot of fun. Concealed carry is a bit of a challenge.....

    1 contender, 2 barrels (30 carbine & 357 Max).

    I've lost track of how many different barrels I've had for this gun. I'd have to say my 2 favorite have been the 30 Carbine and a 30-30 with muzzlebrake. 30-30 isn't legal for deer in my state plus I wouldn't shoot that thing even once without hearing protection - 0bnoxious but fun.

    None right now, but had a T/C Encore .308 pistol a few years ago. It was a lot of fun. A buddy of mine has a .375 JDJ, and firing it with 270-300gr bullets made me really appreciate the rubber grip on it.

    Lyman 54 cal BP "Plains" pistol, Flintlock I made from a kit. I made it to match my GPR in 54 cal flint kit.

    Its a great shooter, I never shot any animal with it but I would bet it could kill a deer.



    I also have a T/C Contender. I got it in 1978 and my Dad and friends thought I was crazy[;)]

    Bob Milek was one of my heros back them. Him and Steve Herret were big time handgun hunters and I wanted to be one too.

    So I got a Contender in 357 Herret and away I went.

    I have barrels in:

    375 winchester(14")(This is the hardest kicking of all of them)

    22 K-Hornet (12" Bullberry)

    22 LR(Squirrel killing machine)

    223(14")

    30-30(14")

    44 Mag(10")

    All are scoped with either a Leupold or Burris 2x Pistol scope.

    Oh yea it has a Herret Grip on it that old Steve probably carved himself[;)]

    I always wanted a 30 carbine barrel. I thought it would be a great round.

    1920 Fiala. Although it takes a magazine, similar to the Colt Woodsmen. It a manually operated, single shot, repeater. The slide reciprocates, from the gas pressure of the fired cartridge. Ejecting the fired case. You than have to manually push the slide forward, into battery. Chambering a cartridge, from the magazine.

    Returned it, and actually got my money back.

    The only one that's in the "too brutal" category was the 45/70 with a Hodgden recommended reload that showed a 300 JHP @ 2,100 fps from a 12" barrel. Damn thing was just too much "oomph" on the receiving end. I swapped out the 12" barrel for a 14" and it's manageable.

    The 375 H&H doesn't recoil so much as it "torques". From MGM. A 1" bull tube with a great brake.
