Home Exterior Redesign Question

I am considering a demo/rebuild of masonry porch on the front of my home. While I am fortunate in having the ability to renovate/build most things around the house this will be a pretty large job requiring equipment/skills/manpower beyond my abilities. Do any of you have knowledge of a fairly basic program I could load a current image of the house into then experiment with overlaying potential rebuild ideas (railings, pillars, bluestone vs. brick stairs, etc.) before reaching out to a contractor? (I'm very technically challenged when it comes to complex computer operations but I can eventually dummy my way thru simpler stuff.) My primary interest here being to form a better visual of what the finished project would look like before jumping headlong into an expensive rebuild.

    I have no idea. Im like you i cant see things like that in my mind.

    However if you give me a blueprint i can build or make what you want.

    I will be looking at this post because i would like this for my wife.

    I have Punch! Pro Platinum home design running on my XP machine. I looked to see if I could import a picture, and it won't do that without converting it. It is a 3d software.

    The software is pretty easy to use, so you could probably mock up your home easy enough. It's pretty cheap because it is older software, newer stuff will run more, $10 for older, $45 for newer.

    Since you will be making structural changes, it will require permits, so you might as well contact a draftsman.

    Barz, I have what I (at this juncture anyway) believe are the basics in my mind, just would like to be able to lay things out and actually see them in color on a pic of the house, be able to swap railings, pillars, stairs, etc. around. As we all know, the ideas we visualize can many times be not just what we wanted when they materialize. Better to try a few things on the screen before actually going to a pro to draw up plans and start site work.
    Mag, they do have some interesting basic programs on that site...then there are the expensive ones, prob need something by Cray to run them! Thanks again.
