What's the tastiest, best thing you've ever eaten?
I will just have to start with my late mom's Cream Puffs.

I love just about all food.
Some of my favorites:
Halibut Cheeks
Fresh Canadian Walleye cooked over an open fire with pork n beans, fried potatoes, and canned corn!Shore Lunch!
Northern Illinois bi-color sweet corn with butter and salt.
Soft Shell Crab.
Bohemian Style Roast Duck, Dumplings, and Saur Kraut.
Svickova. A Bohemian Beef dish with dumplings that is Spectacular! (Kind of a Bohemian Pot Roast)
Morels, along with all mushrooms!
Fresh home grown tomatoes. Especially as a Caprese Salad with real good Balsamic vinegar and fresh Basil.
Oysters prepared any way. From raw to fried to baked to roasted.
Thick cut Medium Rare Lamb Chops.
Fresh Elk Tenderloin in butter in a hot cast iron pan in camp.
Most everything at a fine French Restaurant, Steak House, Italian Restaurant, Chinese Restaurant, Japanese Restaurant, German, Etc!!0 -
Grandmas Chunky Fried apple sauce with some Vanilla Ice cream on the side. 0 -
Chocolate Lasagna! My wife and I ordered 1 serving figuring it was just standard restaurant fare. Took it home and when we ate it it was just SSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!! I was ready to break her neck and she was ready to stab me and poke my eyes out as we fought to get the last microscopic sub atomic crumb (LOL). And now they don't sell it............DAMIT DAMIT DAMIT!
When I was stationed in New Mexico the local stores carried a similar treat made by Breyers. It was good enough to convince the kids to do their homework, clean their rooms and show up with bowls in hand and halo's above their heads. And of course Breyer's stopped making it.

As a child growing up on a farm we always killed hogs in the winter. Moms would can the tenderloins in gravy . Later in the year we would have tenderloin and gravy in fresh made biscuits . Oh to go back in time for one more meal of them 0 -

At Thanksgiving my grandmother used to make a vanilla custard. While it was warm she would pour custard over vanilla cake and sprinkle fresh shredded coconut on it.
I have tried to make the custard and it never has been the same.0 -
Most probably never heard of this meal but it has been passed down through the family ( a Bohemian dish) for years and is enjoyed by everyone who eats it. It's called pork and dumplings. Pork chops and gravy over cut up potato dumplings along with sweet sauerkraut. 0 -

If I could recreate that dish, I'd have it once a week for eternity. It's a steamed, split head in a spicy/soy broth, they serve it with noodles and it's incredible. It was my favorite in the winter. Besides the millions of tiny bones, it is my fav.

Growing up in a very big family made for a lot of fights at the dinner table with my siblings.
If that dish had been on the table, we would have fought over who gets the EYES!! [:D][:D]0 -
One Yuletide when I was seven or eight a family friend brought over a dish she called Plum Puddling. I took one bite and to this day nearly sixty years later I have never tasted ANYTHING as good as that pudding. 0
