grandson flushed a x man figure down the toilet. messed with it for awhile couldnt get it out, it was hung in the trap.went to home depot & got a new one.....merry christmas. 0 -

Did not see my son for years so Long in fact he had two grown kids of his own by the time I saw him again.
Do not want to do that again. its a little over 700 miles one way for visits. With his work schedule its hard to find a time both of us can be off. Now I have enough vacation Built up its take it of lose it. Company had 160 cap for saving vacation after that you stop earning vacation time. He is a Paramedic and is now the Union President for the Kern County Fire Fighters. So time off is really limited.0 -
When I was young I had a job that required way to much of my time,
on call 24/7, and I couldn't spend all the time I wanted/needed with my daughters but after several promotions I was able to make up for some of the lost time.
We finally got them educated and into young adulthood , with the lion's share of the work falling to my wife's efforts. But lo and behold My lovely daughters blessed us with 4 Grandsons and 2 Granddaughters, who in turn blessed us with 8 Great Grandsons and 3 great Granddaughters which I cherish very much...I just wish I was as great as they think I am.
I have build so many rocking horses that I can do them in my sleep...a labor of love for sure.
BTW, you can almost go broke buying rods and reels for the clan, LOL
They are all fish catching machines...got to love it.
Holiday visits are controlled chaos and I love every minute of it.0 -
Yep Only folks from his side of the family Christmas day was My Ex and her Husband and Me. The place was packed with all of her folks. 0 -

Grandkids are your reward for not drowning your children when they were teenagers.
When I met the great grandkids, they were about 2, and were not sure about the old dude with the white beard. Then they discovered the old dude was a source of Goldfish cheese crackers- decided he must be OK.0
