Locust Fork - Kasey: the definition of good people

Some of you may know that I have been forced to dispose of a large portion of my firearms collection (roughly 100 pieces) to cover many of the costs associated with my fight against cancer.

The girls and close family have been supportive - nobody has ever made me feel like a burden or a liability. Having said that a not insignificant portion of the funds raised I have placed directly into paying "my way - my share" (mortgage and rent and mainly).

Because it would be extremely difficult to face myself in the mirror or when I close my eyes at night had I not stepped up to the plate and done my best to contribute what I could throughout this ordeal.

In addition to parting with a good portion of my gun collection I also sold off about 100 collectable antiques - mostly depression ware and carnival glass and pottery.

This has been difficult for me at times - it's been unpleasant.

Locust Fork - Kasey has provided an enormous amount of assistance and has not only been a true professional in this endeavor - she has provided a more rare and priceless commodity...

Friendship and respect and personal time.

If you need or want to liquidate 1 or 100 of your firearms and need to partner with someone trustworthy to assist you on the auction end of things I can think of no-one better than Kasey.

In a world were people are insular and mercenary - were good honest business practices and ethics have become a rare commodity Kasey stands out and is above the fray - she shines from within.

So if my word or recommendation carries weight with you please know that I endorse her wholeheartedly from a business perspective - but also as a friend.

    I've had a couple dealings with Kasey. She has always gone above and beyond. I may or may not win a Kasey auction this evening. I'm high bidder, but I'm at my max.


    It's nice to deal with People you like and Trust.

    I?ve bought and sold a few with her. Even made a trek from western Iowa to her ?hobby? shop/home to bring a bunch to her.

    Her family is just as awesome as she is, and I greatly appreciate her doing what she does.


    And the honey is first rate!

    You are too kind. I am just glad I'm able to help do what I do. I know there are a lot of sellers out there and when someone decides to use my services to handle their collection their trust is something I take very seriously.

    I understand it is a huge leap of faith to jump in and let another person handle the sale of a firearm collection.....if it is a few items, or a large collection. Parting with things is heartbreaking and exciting all at the same time. You spend a lifetime gathering things you find interesting and unique...knowing the value these things hold and thinking about the time you might sell.

    When a person decides it is time to let things go it can be because they want to reap the rewards of the investment they have built or maybe they don't want to leave loved ones with a collection they are unable to really handle properly. They might be looking to part with items they no longer want in order to buy something they desire. There are many reasons to make the decision to sell.

    My goal has always been to take as much work off of a person who is looking to sell while trying to do a good enough job that the selling price goes for more than they would have gotten doing the job themselves. On average we get more than expected for a collection.....but it is typically because things average out to this end, more than expected for some, less for other items in the lot. I just hope that in the end you are pleased with the numbers and think letting me handle things was worthwhile.

    There is a VW Squareback out in the barn that I don't think Larry would miss if I did sell it. Don't tempt me!!!

    Kasey helped me sell 19 guns that didn't fit my collection and were not getting shot. She could not have been more professional or helpful.

    She me half way to transfer the guns to her, easy one day drive for both of us. A bunch of guns I wished I had never bought .... turned back into cash .... for more than I could have sold them for, if I had spent a ton of weekends at gun shows letting idiots mishandle them.

    I recommend Kasey with no reservations at all. Thanks Kasey!

    I keep saying I'm going to prepare a folder to give to people that will be kept in their safe. Something that has an inventory book and information on how to contact me if anything happens and what will happen once someone does contact me. Having a loved one pass away is such a shock, on top of the stress they shouldn't have to worry about the mountain of chaos that a firearm collection in need of a new home to deal with. In good times that can be one of the most worrisome things to take on.
