bitter/sweet event
It has become a tradition to go out to eat with my kids and grandkids on my dearly departed wife's birthday and the anniversary of when she was killed in a car wreck. After we go to dinner, we go to the cemetery and say a few words over her grave, and then we write how we feel about her on balloons filled with helium with a sharpie and let them go.
The sweet part is all of us getting together another time and having dinner together. The bitter part of course is the fact that she's not there with us.
Yesterday was her birthday. It was another bitter/sweet event in my life.

Keep up the tradition. I believe as long as she is in your heart or your loved ones you still have a piece of them.
My Dad and grandmother are like that for me. I love them with every part of me.

I am sorry for your loss, Ed. I can?t imagine what that would be like. I think about what if something happened to my wife. So many count on her and I doubt I could take up the slack. 0 -

Thank you Jim, she passed away in 1998. And the whole family is still at a loss without her help...
She was the type of woman that would do anything for anybody, I ended up having to quit gathering wood for the fireplace a day early because I would always want to go out for the whole weekend and gather up as much as I could, and then split it the next weekend. but if I didn't allow myself one day to split it before I went back to work, when I got home from work she would have it split herself... And she sure wasn't a tomboy. She was a gorgeous blonde that had a perfect body and was often mistook for Heather Locklear... But she would go split the wood just to make my life easier... She was the best woman I ever met.
I guess that explains why I really don't date anymore, and I'm still single. She's irreplaceable0 -
