EVERY light on my dash came on today......UGH
I swear, I am going to make this silly Traverse last a while longer, but its REALLY trying to make me give in.
I don't know if Stabilitrak is important, but when it is out my car sure goes nuts.
I guess its time to get the brakes checked out because that light came on today......AND the little orange picture of the motor also came on.
I don't know why, but whoever made the Traverse seems to think WIPER FLUID is so important it needs its own bell and scrolling message if you ever run down to the 1/2 way point.
AND.....
I must have a ghost riding shotgun with me because it wants me to buckle the passenger in (that isn't there.)
I am about to just start driving the Camaro everywhere.....in the long run I think it will be less costly.

Take it to an AutoZone or O'Reilly's and have them run a diagnostic check. It's free, and you can figure out what's wrong with it before you take it into a mechanic. It might be something real simple you can fix yourself 0 -
Every light comes on in my dash too, usually when I turn the key on or at night time with the headlights on. [:o)].

Get a scangauge. Leave on your dash and connect to OB port and cancel your own check engine alerts. 0 -

I've had a ScanGauge on my truck for 7 years now and it works great. I bought it because my truck didn't come with a transmission fluid temperature gauge and the ScanGauge has it. It has a lot of other functions to like reading and clearing the engine alerts.0 -
Take some electrical tape and tape over the lights, that way they don't glare in your eyes while you're driving night... Problem solved][:o)] 0 -
I had to pass the place I get my tires this afternoon, so I thought I'd just pop in and get them to handle the tire pressure mess while I was out that way.
I didn't "say" fix it......I just gave them the keys and said the sensor says I have ZERO air in the front right tire. I sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes and when they called my name they said it was no charge......but they said it was just a bad sensor. So, that was a complete waste of time. I still have that notification scrolling across my info and the tire light is lit up. I wish wish wish they had asked if they should fix it. No cost....but I sure hate that I have to make another trip over that mess.0 -

I'm going to leave it with a shop tomorrow night so they can go over everything. I'm just glad nothing is really broken....just lights and the incessant "bing bing bing" thinking the ghost in the passenger seat needs to be buckled up. 0 -

The girls loved my Lexus RX350 vintage super luxury fuller sized SUV...
Mine is a 2001 with like 54,000 miles on it and looks like the day it rolled off the dealership floor.
All wheel drive when needed - bullet proof double over head can fuel Injected V6 that is one of the greatest engines ever made.
Heated leather - thermostat A/C controls - moon roof -I mean everything...
And if taken care of it will run forever.
I paid $6000.00 for mine and traded in my 2003 ranger with 160,000 miles.
You can find these older gems for good money of you look long and hard - got mine at a Subaru dealer ship along with my 2005 Lincoln LS with only.50,000 miles in showroom condition (package deal both cars for $11,000.00 before deducting my trade - I paid cash and got both very very vehicles
Mackenzie bought her S10 4X4 regular cab fleet side pick up (1999) with less than 50,000 miles on it - no rust or dents and a great service record for under $5000,00
Makaila is looking at a Toyota land cruiser from 1987 with 62,000 original miles owned by the Toyota dealerships shop manager since new and he only wants $10,000
I think that these four vehicles were bought well and kept well and will run forever if treated well
I think that you might be very happy in an older gently used well built vehicle with a good reputation - cheaper for one...
And I think the retro vibe suits you well and I don't think you need the flash of the latest model...

My plan when I bought this thing was to make it last until I no longer needed a HUGE vehicle. It has three rows of seats.....the two back rows of seats fold down making it a cavern of space to carry things. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that all the seats fold down flat.....not like the Tundra or other things I looked at that had folding seats, but they didn't lay flat. I think I can deal with a mid size now. I don't want to buy another car until we have Larry's truck paid off.
I'm less in love with all the fancy stuff now that I've dealt with this one. A/C in the seats is my only luxury I'd love to have in every car I drive......on those hot days having cold air on your tush is amazing.0 -
I agree with Mike on the Lexus RX350. Bought my wife's in 2013, her retirement present it is a 2010 model.
Just came off lease with 17k. With these vehicles they extend the warranty until 100k or 5 yrs.
She has 84k now have not payed for anything other than oil changes and new tires.
Out neighbor had one I think it is a 2001 like Mike's. She had almost 200k and only done routine maintenance.
When wife is ready for new vehicle I am taking the RX.0 -
If you can?t repair your own car you need a mechanic you can trust. And you should be willing to pay his diagnostic time which will save you money in the long run. 0 -
I know some see me as cheap white trash but I feel that careful search amongst older used vehicles can net a long lived car in great shape for good money - especially if not a primary vehicle or one of many vehicles.

My $50 55 Mercury station wagon was the same way. My only gripe with that car was the vacuum windshield wipers.0 -

Had a 56 Merc with vacuum wipers the faster you drove the slower they wiped. Lucky I lived in the desert.0
