My old Pathfinder was making knock'n sounds

And the exhaust was blowing lots of grey smoke. I was wondering if replacing the piston return springs would fix the problem.

    Just tape over the check engine light and wear some ear plugs.
    Problem solved.

    I've never heard of piston return springs before this video. I don't understand the need for them.

    Most engine noises can be fixed by turning up the radio.

    Note: this does not work when flying at night over enemy territory or water.

    Might want to check your antifreeze level...maybe a blown head gasket or cracked head or block...

    piston return springs. maybe thats the solution to perpetual motion. wish i had thought of that.

    Check the coolant and oil levels.If they are mixing(milky color in either) then you would probably have a head gasket,cracked head/block problem.I have a Nissan with almost 500,000 miles and everytime so far that I suspected a serious problem it turned out to be a simple fix.

    The only reason that a piston return spring will fail like that is failure to lube the muffler bearings. Will do it every time.

    Plus you will need to buy 30 weight oil and some ball bearings and a towel...

    And don't forget stem lube and a replacement Johnson rod.

    Spies like us and Fletch were both pretty funny but he declined rapidly - I think the final tipping point was when they decided to cancel the arsinio Hall show and replace it with the Chevy Chase show to compete against the tonight show...

    Piston return springs and muffler bearings are pretty funny.

    No excuse me I need to check my blinker fluid level.
