    PERSPECTIVE
    A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency
    did a good job of putting that figure into perspective in one of its
    releases:

    A billion seconds ago it was 1971.
    A billion minutes ago Jesus was crucified only 70 years earlier.
    A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
    A billion dollars ago was only 4 hours and 5 minutes ago at the rate
    Washington spends it.



    This is making the rounds with different numbers [must have been originally
    written about 12 years ago], this version is corrected for current time and
    budget.

    The official US budget shows $2.140 Trillion to be spent in 2003, creating
    $304 Billion additional deficit this year as part of the $6.752 Trillion in
    existing deficit/debt, not counting unfunded Social Security benefits.
    With about 275 million US citizens, the 2003 budget means $7,782 in
    spending, and $24,553 of unfunded debt, PER PERSON. That totals, ta da,
    $32,335 per person cost to 'run' the US government. And how much did you
    pay in taxes? Federal, State, local, licenses, fees, sales tax, use tax,
    property tax, estate tax, garbage collection, water rates, etc, etc, etc?

    Was listening to that on the radio going in to work yesterday morning.


    Yes, the perpetrator was correctly termed an "Illegal Alien" multiple times.


    Officer Singh was correctly identified as someone who was a Immigrant who came to the United States Legally, having gone through the process in order to be here Legally.

    Never asked for anything. Aspired to be a Law Enforcement Officer. The best our Legal Immigration has to offer.

    RIP Officer Singh.










    Build the Freakin' Wall, already. With the $$ this Country throws at other things, (such as Foreign Countries who hate us) that $5B is a drop in tge bucket.

    Screw throwing our Tax dollars at the World. MAGA. It is WAY overdue.

    Just a little trivia on the Officers name.

    Have a Engineer at the main office with that last name and he lives in the same area as the Officer.

    Also if you look up Singh you will see at least one with that name is a great Indian Hero for his battles against the Muslims.
