Another nut job shoots up a bar
Happened in CA, Thousand Oaks, 11 people confirmed injured none reported dead. Nutcase had smoke bombs/grenades and a handgun.
Been to Thousand Oaks many times, always thought it was a nice area.

College night at a massive night club / bar
Witness says guy walked in and started shooting
It was reported that one of those shot was a sherrifs dept officer
11 shot or injured - shooter dead (but I don't see how that happened yet suicide or return fire)

Been listening to it on my way over here to get unloaded this morning but been out of the truck for 45 min or so, not sure of anything new yet0 -
Looks like he rolled in and capped the cashier and bouncer at the point of entry - threw some smoke devices and emptied a 33 round mag from a glock
Reloaded and dumped another 33 rounder
But I can not yet find how he died
Dressed in all black - called a disguise and military gear
CNN started saying deadly mass shooting - does that apply if only the bad guy dies???
No who or why.
High caps banned in California yet they are used in a cowardly shooting - I thought liberal legislation made you safe

Can anyone explain why the investigation into the motives and background of the Vegas shooter seemed to vanish from the news almost immediately...
It got milked for political anti gun value - media stepping on the dead and injured to advance the lib dem prog alt left agenda...
How does this story drop off the face of the earth - why no frequent updates or follow ups or in depth news investigations???
The motives and forces behind the republican baseball team assassin also went away pretty quick...
Am I the only one who sees it or should I adjust my tinfoil hat - has my brain cancer gotten worse...

Just participated in an active shooter class and one of our pie charts shows the "fighting back" occurrences which include "good guy with a gun". Had to tell them "this doesn't count, because a) you're in CA and b) we're in San Francisco. True that some parts of CA are OK getting a CCW, SF ain't one of them.
BTW, STANDARD capacity magazines aren't illegal in CA. If you had them before a certain date they're still OK, at least until the latest NRA lawsuit gets settled. And this fellow used a Glock in 45 ACP - do they make a 33 rounder in that caliber?0 -
Yes, there are high cap mags available for every caliber of Glock. You can even get drum mags for them if you want. The Kriss Vectors can accept Glock mags. Pretty sure Kel-Tec carbines accept them as well.
There was a lot of shouting about assault rifles when this first happened and then low and behold the guy just had a pistol in the end and a kid that was there said it seemed like the police arrived within 30 seconds of when the shooting started.
Apparently law enforcement has had several interactions with the shooter and mental health officials had dealt with him in the past. They had laws on the books banning high cap mags and giving LE the ability to remove firearms from people who were deemed to be a danger, mentally. Apparently at the time he did not appear to be a danger. But said he just bought the gun legally in 2016. Hasn't owned it that long.

some do it to get the 15 minute fame no one would ever know they lived or died maybe a hand full of people unless they do something so shocking to get attention and fame
now the entire country + will know him ( although a short time ) the news media promotes the name and all the history they can find they should just report "some one" no name no description complete ignore any chance of giving them the spot light0 -
Briefly 13 dead "including the shooter" were listed. Now the media (that I glance at) is discluding the shooter within the number of casualties. 0
