Shipping to an FFL????

So as not to hijack the post about the Fedex question about shipping, it brings up a good question.. If an FFL is home based, such as Kasey, is it a home or business address delivery, how would a shipper know? I've shipped quite a few thru Fedex and they always ask. I tell them that I don't know, but since they have an FFL it must be a business..

    A "residential address" is just that--a residence. Whatever else goes on there doesn't change that. I've had 2,3,or 4 "businesses" operating from my RESIDENCE. Currently, The Grouch Attack has 2 separate home businesses and I receive mail and packages for two Federal agencies at this address and it's still a RESIDENTIAL address.

    Mobuck is right. The reason that Fedex asks is, the residential rate is higher than the commercial rate, since the truck may have to come back another day if no one is home at a residence. Of course, the driver has no way of knowing how much you paid, & doesn't care.

    For the shipper, the most important thing is to make certain that any gun be shipped "adult signature"; that guarantees that the gun won't be left at the door, where it could make it's way into the hands of a prohibited person.

    They make you pay extra to ship signature required.
