Have read and watched many YouTube videos over the last few years. Seems the earths "crust" is much thinner under the Yellowstone caldera.

PS: It gets worse, depending on where you look. Then again it only happens once every 750,000 years, more or less, or maybe that was 75,000 years?
Yes, the "earthquake" (tremors) activity is fairly extensive. The points to either an eruption or various proportions up to and including "wiping out" the continental U.S. or the "azz blasters" are on the way.0 -
And it could happen tomorrow, or in 45,000 years. In geologic time, a year isn't even in consideration as a measurement. 0 -
Over the years I've studied nuclear fallout patterns for obvious reasons and when living in Cali I studied the faults too. The Yellowstone caldera came to my attention as more or less a curiosity.
The projection is everything east of the eruption will be blanketed with ash. Take the upper half of the US, the plume will cover everything to Ohio and maybe farther to the Appalachians or alleganys.
The lower half of the country won't be physically affected.
Sobering thought. An American Pompeii and Herculaneum on a continental scale.

wiping out 1/2 the economic output of the country for years, 1/2 of the farm produce for perhaps decades, while in the immediate term the other half of the country has to render aid to the survivors.
other countries such as Russia, China and India would shortly surpass us in technology and economic might, probably militarily too.
