Vinyl soffit.

Is it possible to take one piece down in the middle vs. starting at one end and working across? I would like to put one or two ceiling fans on the back porch.
I would like to not have exposed conduit.
I watched a couple of vids on Utube but those guys didn?t look like they knew what they were doing.

    We need more information.

    Are you talking about a porch with a roof, or an outdoor installation where the boxes & wires are exposed to the weather?

    For inside installation, many folks use Wiremold, or similar plastic channel.

    You can bend the fascia down carefully and remove one Soffit at a time. I just did it to find the attic mouse and kill his butt last month. Carefully bend the fascia back into place and use a colored nail if needed to keep it closed.

    I am sure it can be done, but you would ruin the soffit. you can take a punch the size of the nail and just drive the nail through the soffit
    is there no way to access it from the attic?

    Most likely nailed in the middle and one corner, the next piece holds the other edge. Depending on what nails used you can pull them or drive them through. Separating it and putting it back together isn't that big a deal. Watch a few videos then just get started, you'll figure it out. There are different tools for different styles.

    The vinyl we install is nailed not only in the middle, but also on one edge, the other slide into a groove. The type we use you have to drive the nails through and hook the center and you might be able to bow it down enough to work. They are 16" wide either perforated or solid. The vinyl siding tool won't do much good on this type.
