The narrative that we were not taught in school is fascinating...
You dig around and it's a colorful and deep / complex narrative...
Elizabeth Stanton and university of Rochester and abolition and suffrage and property rights and the course of her travels while speaking in public and her impact on the image of American women as teachers non withstanding.
Civil disobedience - arrested for voting and sentenced / fined but she never served her time and never paid the fine - her labor organization work and her role in a great 6 volume historical series of some importance...
Her involvement with George Francis Train (the inspiration for around the world in 80 days) is compelling - and his untold story is pretty amazing...
Right up there with Betsy Ross
The intimation that she was a working girl / madam who operated a brothel / ran a string of higher class girls and was arrested for prostitution is interesting...
The supposition that her involvement in that nefarious world was actually a cover for her / her girls as an intelligence gathering agency - a group of operatives run by - masterminded by Ben Franklin is compelling...
Her historic narrative of a flag sewing patriotic iconic moral American woman or figure of purity is almost as big a lie as the story of Johnny Appleseed told to us as children...
Deep dive into any of these folks and prepare to be surprised.

Johnny Appleseed's true story is about home made spirits / liquor and hemp / marijuana - applejack and moonshine and avoiding taxes and dodging revenuers...
The planting of apple trees and the distribution of apple seeds was not a campaign to promote the consumption of healthy fruit by children or kids having a healthy diet...
It was about applejack and shine and spirits and not paying taxes - an anti authoritarian stance against excessive and unfair taxation / a burden placed upon the under represented common folk who had no voice or say - placed on them by remote political figures far away with greedy ulterior motives (sound familiar - perhaps an important theme in the founding of this nation - one of the most pivotal moments in American history - does the Boston tea party ring a bell with you???)
The effort made to pursue him and to counter act his ideas and ideals is amazing - the effort put into trying to control and suppress the pursuant activities is a great read - tax collectors and revenuers and armed troops trespassing on folks land and destroying there property or imprisoning them - big government and big brother run amok.
Hemp and lottery played a role that is almost unspoken and unheard of today - and I have always found the parallel behavior and activity of George Washington note worthy (spirits and lottery and taxes)

I'd be happy if we did away with paper one-dollar bills and went with coins as Canada does. Nobody in their right mind tries to counterfeit a one-dollar bill, so all the security features of folding money are wasted. Coins are cheaper to make, last longer, and work better in vending machines. 0 -
But think of the college students and single moms and pros at your local gentleman's club...
This has caused problems in Canada's strip clubs - unforeseen difficulties that are difficult to over come or adapt to...
The loonies (Canadian large denomination coins) have wreaked havoc on the industry.

I would prefer that we come up with a New Dollar (ND) worth 10 old Dollars. That way our currency would be worth just about what it was back in the 50s. Coins would once again be worthwhile. For now though they should stop printing one Dollar bills so that the one Dollar coin would circulate.0 -

The reason they made it look so ugly, is because when you got them they were so ugly you didn't want to keep them so you spent them right away... You know spending money is good for the economy[:o)]0 -
Rocky a pocket full of British pounds sucks, it will pull your Jeans down. Worse they have several shapes of 10 pence in circulation as well as the 2 pence and 20p being nearly the same size. Even the Brits have to look and hate it.
