Tax law allows any person to receive, tax free, $15,000 from a single person. So, I can give you $15,000, & my wife can give you another $15,000, both tax free.
Since GoFundMe is just a consolidator of small donations, you would think that all distributions would be tax free. But, the folks at IRS could just take a different position, & demand taxes despite what common sense tells everyone else. As usual, they could say, "If you don't like it, sue us." But, if they were to do that, I would expect the Trump IRS dept to prosecute a bunch of consolidators for the Clintons, who are within the statute of limitations.
