How does the ammunition get so mixed up???
I don't get it. We have this large rack of drawers in my laundry room where the small boxes of ammo are. Its got five rows with 6 bucket type drawers on each row. You would think this wouldn't be that hard to keep organized.....but it is ALWAYS a total mess for some reason. The drawer that holds 9mm has some sks stripper clips in it....there is a 1/2 full box of 45acp in several random drawers. If you want 30-30 it might be in with the 7mm Jap or the 500S&W. I hate those drawers. Nobody messes with the cases of ammo, but you can't have access to 20 rounds of anything around here without someone going full goober with it.

My husband blames my son....but my husband is pretty disorganized. Our laundry room isn't humid at all. Its a large room at the back end of the house with windows and door to the outside. This place was built in the 50's and altered some time in the 70's to have a second floor, so some of the rooms don't make sense. I wish the downstairs bedroom was as big as the laundry room. 0 -

I have a second steel cabinet for the shotgun shells, 9mm gallery to 10 ga., along with powder, primers and reloading components. I keep an inventory sheet on the inside doors so I always know what I have on-hand"...................clearly an anal retentive amateur

I'm retired from military and law enforcement, have competed for over 40 years and I'm an anal retentive amateur? I'm not even sure why anyone would post an uncalled for comment like that? [B)]

I think the problem is that when I buy things in piles I just keep the guns.....all the stuff, ammo, extras, holsters and such are fair game to the boys in the house. I am certain they are taking this stuff and stashing it as soon as they can get their hands on it.
I picked up a Palmetto AR10 today that has optics on it. If I don't get it listed today or tomorrow I'm betting one of these two have it naked before the week is done.0 -
Sounds more like a pocket dump than any form of organization. You need a better ammo dump location also like the dining room table [:D]. 0 -

I'll admit to the occasional 22 or 9mm round, and perhaps a few empty cases now and then making it through the laundry.
But if y'all have soo much ammo in your pockets that you collect it by the bucket by the caliber (or try to) when you are doing the wash... well, somethin' ain't quite right!
