Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Will Retire from the US Supreme Court in January, 2019
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has had a re-occurrence of malignant melanoma, she has told her law clerks. Ginsburg was treated in 1999 for colon cancer and had surgery in 2009 for pancreatic cancer.
Cancer is back plus the broken ribs and she has notified Feinstein and others.

That's why she picked that date. Needs to wait until 2019 so Trump will be in final year before election and they can argue against him making a nomination. No guarantee the GOP majority will go along but they did it to Obama. Of course Ginsberg is counting on Trump losing in 2020 and a Democrats picking her successor. Hope she lives long enough to see him win and pick another conservative.
