Does a P228 and a P229 in 9mm take the same mags?

  You could say that before 2010 or so the 9mm P229 and the P228 had the same frame and used the same magazines. (the non railed frames) The 9mm P229 railed frames used the same magazines.
  
  SIG Sauer changed the frames of the 9mm P229 to use the frames of the .40 S&W/.357SIG P229 around 2010. The magazine tube is slightly larger and will not fit the older P229's and P228's. The older 229 and 228 magazines will fit the post 2010 frames./quote]

  Like was said , older 229 9mm's and the 228 are the same. The newer 229 9mm mags are 229-1's.
