Remington 870 Express Tactical 20 Gauge
I just put one of these on a payment plan, at the local indoor range/gun shop. I thought it was pretty neat being a short, easy handling 20 gauge, with the full length magazine tube. The gun also has the entire barrel and action done in a tungsten Cerakote. It looks really nice.
Does anyone have one of these? What do the 870's with smoothbore barrels & fixed cylinder choke, generally like best for slugs? The link below is the exact gun(minus no Cerakote) that I'm getting.

THe 20 rem 870 youth has been our go to gun anytime there is a female shooter in the house for a defensive gun. 0 -

You should offer them the Ithaca 10ga Road Blocker loaded with 3.5" Magnum Buckshot[;)]

I sold a road blocker a couple of mounts to a guy on kodiac Island who was gonna cut the barrel back to 18? for bear. I could hardly lift that damn thing. 0 -

That's what my wife used, when she started deer hunting. I figure she may use this occasionally as well.
I personally love the 20 gauge. I find it very comfortable to shoot all day, in a nice light pump gun.

Jon I have the manly version in 12 Ga and it runs really good. It has the Wilson sight set with the rear peep sight and the big bead front sight.
Mine doens't have the cerecote but it is parkerized.
Its a good gun and I like it.0 -
I have several 20 ga guns including Remington 1100's and 870's with smooth bore slug barrels (cyl bore and I-Cyl). My main use gun I used for HD and hunting was a Remington 1100, and I tested this gun with 6 brands of slugs for accuracy at 50 and 100 yards. The winner just happened to be Remington brand slugs in this gun.
Keep in mind that each gun can be a study on its own and the only way to know what your gun shoots absolutely best is to test it.0 -

You really have to test the gun.
That said I have found MOST shotguns shoot Brenneke Slugs well. They are my goto Slug for my shotguns.
I like the KO Slug they have them in 12 and 20ga
They also have a Tac Home Defense in both 12 and 20

Brenneke are very popular and came in as number 2 on my gun. Actually they gave slightly tighter groups at 50 yards than did the Remington slugs. The groups opened up at 100 yards however.0 -

I have heard a ton of good about the Brenneke slugs. I was surprised to see how reasonably priced the KO slug was. They also make a 3" slug for the 20 gauge that looks like it would be nasty! [:0] That one is priced a bit higher though.

I picked up 2 boxes of these at Fleet Farm today.
They didn't have much to choose from, so I'll have to find a few others to test later.
