    If they're caught ,they're sentence should be ten years of swabbing decks, and KP ,no leave and no pay !if they complain ,one year extension for every complaint ! It's time to set some examples !America will not out up with is kind of bullsnit !

    This goes way beyond felony vandalism. I don't know what a prosecutor might call it, but it is heinous in the extreme.

    That type of vandalism is about as bad as it gets. To make matters worse, this happened at the same time that the museum, and the submarine, are being evicted from their current location. Apparently there is still no new home for the sub, and refloating the boat is only going to add to the troubles faced by the museum.

    EVERY resource, private citizens, government, military need to be on this like stink on poop.

    But in the back of my mind I keep thinking follow the money. Would vandals know or even care enough to open hatches? If it was a Muslim attack, that would make more sense. "Trophy taken to brag about sinking a submarine.

    Follow the money. Those developers needed the spot.

    Agreed. As I said above, it goes way beyond vandalism. Until they're caught, we won't know if it was some kind of anti-military protest, a move to get the space for development, terrorism, or something else.

    Frankly, terrorism is the least likely. My guess (repeat guess) is the protest or the land subterfuge. Whichever it turns out to be, I hope they get the absolute maximum penalty.

    What clear thinking individual could possible argue that? The same can be said for the attacks on Confederate flags beginning with the civil rights and communist movement in America immediately following WW II and snowballing ever since, right along with naming streets after racists and communists, and defaming our national heroes like George Washington Thomas Jefferson, James Bowie and our Alamo men, along with our Confederate heroes. But who does this surprise? Not the dyed in the wool racist BLM and ANTIFA Fascist freaks, not their cheer leaders in the media nor the progressive politicians they fawn over. No! They are smart enough to play the astute against the ignorant.

    We stayed aboard with the BSA back in mid 90's IIRC. The boys loved it. Truly a great experience for them and I.

    So let me see if I understand this story correctly. The Nazis were unable to sink this boat in WWII.

    The Nazis Surrendered May 8, 1945 and this boat was commissioned June 8, 1945

    But perhaps I should not mention it because that would be attacking the free press who's version of the truth is the real truth

    A little off topic for the creeps that did this who should get the max for this stupid act

    That is the approach I took Wolfmann. One hopes this is some kids that did a stupid thing and get what is coming to them instead of a larger movement to destroy historical landmarks as some are speculating.

    I have spent many enjoyable hours on unguided tours of historic vessels. Something like this, if reproduced elsewhere could take that away from us.

    Not that we wouldn't have rotten people do the same thing down here in Mobile, the the USS DRUM, a GATO class sub is on display next to the USS ALABAMA, BB-60, a SOUTH DAKOTA class battleship.
    The difference is the DRUM is on concrete pillars on land.

    We also still have standing a statue of Admiral Raphael Semmes. Captain of the blockade runner CSS Alabama

    I hope the LING finds a home where it can live forever. Preferably on land.
