With limited exceptions, the Gun Control Act, as amended, makes it unlawful for any person to transfer or possess a machinegun unless it was lawfully possessed prior to the effective date of the statute. The bump-stock-type devices covered by this final rule were not in existence prior to the effective date of the statute, and therefore will be prohibited when this rule becomes effective. Consequently, under the final rule, current possessors of these devices will be required to destroy the devices or abandon them at an ATF office prior to the effective date of the rule.

I personally believe the NFA is unconstitutional.
That said I obey the law wrong or not I am not looking to be stupid in the face of power unconstitutional as it may be
I have always felt bump stocks were a violation of the NFA and as such I have never owned one knowing that this day would come
They shouldn't be illegal but then so it is with many things that have been perverted from the intention of the founding fathers0
