Water Rising
I was hoping to get out of here today and look for a shower and a cup of joe but the water rose a bunch last night. I am setting beside a neighbors farm as I type this and it looks like maybe five feet of water standing. Yesterday day most of his property was dry but the river backed up all this water into the creeks around the house. Right now it?s about thirty feet down the street from touching my property and my house is three feet above the road. Hoping it starts going down soon. I have been taking Listerine baths but man I STINK!!![:)]

You still have a bit of a cushion that is very similar to what two of my first cousins in Houston had during Harvey. When they found out that two large reservoirs would be opened they felt that Buffalo Bayou would overflow and flood them out, too, so they left by boat and stayed with friends, but the water did not get inside their homes which are across the street from one another. All that nice water, just get out there with a bar of Ivory soad and a scrub brush and git er dun!
Coffee is easy, build a fire get a pot fill with water bring to a boil, dump in coffee let stand fill your cup with nice refreshing joe[;)]0 -
Don't get in that water. A lot of hog waste retention ponds and coal ashe ponds have been breached upstream of you. I know you have heard plenty about the Gen X down there, but this stuff is much worse. Keep your powder dry. 0 -
Ricci, all we can do is hope for the best in a bad situation. Water has no mercy, hang in there. Three feet is a LOT of cushion in bad times. 0
