    Sounds like a simple case of ignorance fueled by insanity run amuck to me. Nothing to get excited about but I would like to see less ignorance in school teachers.

    When I was in school ?ma?am? was the correct way to address married ladies including teachers and ?miss? was correct for unmarried ladies. If you didn?t know the marital status ma?am was correct until you were corrected.

    There was no reason for this to get out of hand. Assuming the teacher is a politically correct nut job, even that doesn?t disqualify her from having a civil conversation with anyone of any age. She could have simply informed him there are insane folks such as herself that consider ?ma?am? an obsolete word which some young insane women consider offensive. At that point he should have ceased calling her ?ma?am? and started calling her ?bitch? or ?ho? or whatever she prefers.

    The principal took the only option available to him.
